The BBUS for the alarm on Defenders is located in a very vulnerable position behind the headlight
The standard alarm on a defender is actually quite good but has a weakness in the way some components are mounted, as such they can very quickly and easily disable it, giving them much more time to steal parts from the Land Rover Defender or worse still, the entire Defender itself.

Pin switch loom Kit, enables an additional genuine Land Rover switch to be added to the alarm system on post td5 alarmed Land Rovers. It requires no soldering but will require a bit of drilling of the bodywork.
It gets mounted behind the headlamp surround to provide an early warning by setting off the alarm if the surround is removed...
